Designed with Student Safety in Mind

eDee has a fully enclosed chassis for safe operation which can only be accessed when the student authenticates with either his school access card or by entering his user credentials in the user interface panel. The doors automatically lock when printing is in progress which eliminates touching of any moving parts and prevents any other student from taking the object. When the door is unlocked, the printing is paused and resumes when the door is locked again.
The materials used in creating the 3D object is environmentally-friendly PLA. This corn-starch based material is ideal for student projects and, unlike other materials, does not emit toxic fumes.

Administrator Friendly

School administrators must ensure that use of 3D printers and printing materials are managed correctly and wisely. That is why we have integrated our YSoft SafeQ workflow solution platform with our 3D printer. Now administrators can manage 3D printer access, usage and costs. And, if desired, schools can create student accounts and use our account and payment system to provide pay-to-print services on 3D printers. Creating access for students to eDee is easy. Access to the spooler door, where printer materials (spools of PLA material), are available only to school administrators.
eDee provides administrators with fact-based audit reports on usage and materials costs. With this information, administrators can make decisions on 3D printer usage to ensure proper use and to manage 3D printing costs across the entire campus.

Complements Print Management for 2D Printers

YSoft be3D eDee leverages YSoft SafeQ, the same modular software used by educational institutions around the world for managing 2D printers, If you are already using YSoft SafeQ for your 2D (paper) printers, adding the module for 3D printing is easy and is provided with the eDee printer. Conversely, if you use YSoft SafeQ for 3D printers and later wish to add modules to manage 2D printers, it is a simple process. You never pay twice for modules that are shared between our 2D printer solutions and our 3D printer solutions.

DeeControl Software

DeeControl software, included with eDee, adds the layering information to your design files when preparing the files for the 3D printing process. DeeControl offers optimization templates for faster printing times or more efficient use of materials. The software also estimates the printing time required based on your design and quality settings.
