Y Soft’s annual team event raises money for charity

Former Communications Director
Every year Y Soft celebrates its birthday with an internal event we call “Scandal”. It has become a tradition that activities at the event are organized in a way that does a good thing: earning money for charity. Together, we were able to donate $6,825 for charities in the three regions where Scandal was held. Y Soft CEO, Václav Muchna, said: "Our annual event gives us the opportunity to reinforce our team spirit. Once again I am proud of how the teams came together for good cause.“

Y Soft held Scandal events in each of Y Soft’s three main regions, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), APAC (Asia Pacific), and NALA (North America and Latin America), with more than 220 participants worldwide. In this year's theme, we all fought alongside King Arthur (started by Václav Muchna) and the Knights of the Round Table to save the Holy Grail and bring peace to the Y Soft kingdom. Each regional team joined forces for different historical games and competitions. Based on the scores, teams and individuals earned stones that represented money to be donated to charity. At the end, it all added up to having a lot of fun, team-building, and giving back something of value to our communities.

“When we calculated how much money we would donate at the end of the game, I was so proud of this company and what we achieved! It was one of my most memorable moments at Y Soft,” said Muchna.

Each region chose the charity they wanted to support. The EMEA region, with corporate headquarters in Brno, Czech Republic, chose the Brno Diocesan Charity. Brno Diocesan Charity provides support for people who cannot take care of themselves due to age, physical condition, mental disability, or adverse social conditions. Y Soft employees in the EMEA region donated a total of $4,455. It will be used for kitchen and sanitary facilities recovery for the charity clients.

In the APAC region, Y Soft employees gave $780 to the Philippine Red Cross. The PRC is the premier humanitarian organization in Philippines, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. At present, the PRC provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services.

Y Soft employees in the NALA region chose to donate the $1,590 they raised to Action Against Hunger (ACF International), a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. ACF International works to save the lives of malnourished children, as well as providing communities with clean drinking water and sustainable solutions to hunger.
